Nicole Mason
Nic Mason is an emerging artist in the NSW Tablelands Region of Australia. She has a lifetime of drawing behind her, and since picking up a paint brush in 2009 her drive to learn and grow and communicate has been unstoppable.
In 2016 Nic has accomplished her first solo art exhibition, WILD in Cowra Regional Art Gallery. This opportunity was born out of being awarded the 2015 Central West Regional Art Award through Cowra Regional Art Gallery. Within 12 months she held her second solo art exhibition, STILL in Tablelands Artists Cooperative Gallery. She has additionally been recognised with a number of works selected for a number of national art prizes such as the Calleen Art Award 2016 and the Korea Australia Art Foundation Prize 2016 and through winning a number of awards including the 2015 acquisitive Oberon Archie through Collumbia Aged Care and the 2016 Winmalee Artfest.
Along with art, Nic cares deeply about the environment.
She began her working life (following a degree in Science)
in conservation management. She sees her art practice as an
extension from her background in conservation management.
In both science and art she observes the world, theorises,
experiments, problem solves and communicates.
Nic is interested in the act of creating and in communicating
concepts. She has found herself seduced by paint, the
process of painting and art history. Her
paintings are strongly influenced by her background in
conservation management, her family, the land and people
around her. She thrives through the weaving of these large
parts of her life – family, community and connection,
science and art.

Nic is currently taking up
a painting residency in France for 6 months.
