Megan Seres
Megan Seres is an emerging artist, living in Regional NSW. In 2004 she attained a BFA H1 painting, National Art School.
Inspired by 17th - 19th century discourse and motifs found in art, poetry, texts, fashion and films, Megan’s oil paintings are luscious, seductive and unnerving.
Cultural upheavals that include objectification, beauty, adornment, isolation, memory and the environment, are brought forth through a residual interchange by converging past, present and future. Owls and other birds also feature in Megan’s work as messengers between worlds.
Art prizes include the Mosman, Fleurieu, Heysen, Percival, John Copes, Wyndham, Whyalla, Sunshine Coast, Waverley, Fisher’s Ghost, Blake, Liverpool and Archibald. Megan was the recipient of the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, Konica Minolta Redlands Prize and the Sydney Airport Prize and was the artist for the TV Show Love My Way. Commissioned regularly Megan’s work is in private collections and public collections including Adderton House and Australian Standfirst.
