Justine Muller
​
Justine Muller is an artist working in multi mediums of painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, writing and activism.
Muller is represented in both State and Private collections, including the Macquarie Bank Group Collection, and she has exhibited in the Art Gallery of NSW Dobell Drawing Prize 2012/2013, Portia Geach Memorial Prize 2013, SH Ervin Gallery, City of Sydney Art and About Festival 2014, St James and Martin Place Stations, the Moran Photographic Prize, Juniper Hall 2015, (the same photo was selected in Guardian Australia’s list of best and most important photos of 2015).
Muller arrived in Wilcannia in 2015 and took up self-funded residency in the community. She has been working under the guidance and mentorship of respected elder and artist Uncle Badger Bates. Together they are collaborating on an exhibition “Barka, the forgotten river” that opens in Broken Hill Regional, May 2018. The exhibition will tour regional areas for 2018-19 drawing attention the plight of the Barka (The Darling River) and the Barkandji people (River People).
Muller’s last exhibition “Understanding my Country” was on display at Juniper Hall, Paddington as part of Head On Festival 6th May- 4th June 2017.
When traveling in Australia Justine is a contributor for instagram feed “everydayaustralia” sharing stories and photos that celebrate Australian diversity.
