BRETT MALLON
 

Brett Mallon is and Australian artist currently residing on the Sinixt, Ktunaxa, Sewpemec and Sylix territories of interior British Columbia, Canada. He completed his Bachelor of Printmaking at Melbourne’s RMIT in 2018 where his studies focused on art and natures ability to heal trauma. He has developed and completed private workshops in Canada and Australia, as well as public printmaking workshops for the National Gallery of Victoria (Austalia), Broken Hill Regional Art Gallery (Australia), Kelowna Art Gallery (Canada).

 

Mallon has exhibited extensively across Melbourne and Victoria with a selection of solo shows and group exhibitions at both Artist Run Initiatives and Commercial Galleries while contributing to public art performances with Perform Print. His printmaking is held in collections at Melbourne’s RMIT, Western Australia’s Curtain University, Canberra’s National Art School and Queensland’s USQ Toowoomba.

 

At University Mallon won the Arts Law Pro Bono Print Commission and upon completing his studies he won the Open Bite, Queenscliff Gallery Graduate Award Residency. Since leaving University he has been a finalist in the Peebles Print Prize (2019) and the Brisbane Portrait Prize, Salon Des Refuses (2020), as well as winning the NG Art Creative Residency in Provence France (2022).
