"Painting from life and using traditional techniques I explore the gentle beauty of everyday objects in my still life work. In a chaotic world, I try to create a quiet space where creative and joyful thoughts can flourish through contemplation of an image rich with colour and light. Painting for me is a never ending journey of exploration, a meditation where one is transported out of self in the pursuit of beauty.. My portraits, painted over a number of sittings, are a way to reveal something of the inner life of the sitters.
