Tenderloins

Tenderloins is a series of paintings created out of my home studio. They are inspired by and distracted by domestic life-dishes, children, dinner preparation and the mundane. They become a meditation or prayer to find the ethereal in the banal.
Flowers have become important in my home and paintings as a way to let the magic in. Always found and never bought they serve as a reminder that the whole world that continues to grow, bloom and die outside of my own. It is easy as a mother to young children to feel as if you are watching the world from the outside.
Flowers bring the outside in. Their fleeting beauty, resilience and fragility are wonderful educators in teaching us to enjoy all of it, to welcome the moments everyday as come face to face with the wonderful mess called living.
